Yes. An example; between 7 AM and 10 AM Wednesday morning. You can self assign for your remaining 2 days of reserve Thursday and Friday, anything 1-3 days in trip length. Maybe a local guy would self assign a turn on Thursday, to avoid an overnight. Or a commuter may self assign 3-day. If they are negatively staffed on reserves on the Saturday (not originally your reserve day) you would get +3 hours of pay on top of guarantee. It works on the front end of a reserve block as well. All the credit goes towards guarantee. Done it multiple times. The problem this time of year, is that open time is scarce and it’s mostly stuff nobody wants to fly.
You owe the company 18 days of reserve every month. Sometimes you get 12 days off others you get 13.
