People keep saying that the only motivation the company has to actually implement QS is the temporary loss of sick verification. But I think there’s also another big driver that will push the company to get QS implemented ASAP, and that is it will greatly speed up last minute coverage and prevent significant delays/cancellations. Looks like a huge amount of OT in ATL right now due to the wx this morning. How long is it taking for people to wait on hold to actually talk to a scheduler right now? How many trips won’t get covered because no one can get through to scheduling in time? Having a process to quickly cover trips that doesn’t involve actually having to talk to a scheduler will greatly improve the company’s ability to cover trips in an IROP (which seems to be every day). I think this will motivate them to get QS coding done quickly as much or even more than trying to get sick verification back.
