There is no provision for getting a futher out GS with a closer in SC/rotation assignment. There are only 2 things guaranteed:
1. You can get a same day GS even if you have a next day or second day assignment already on your schedule

You cannot get a GS that conflicts with an assignment on the same day. SRH page 49 spells out what I just typed out.
If I understand this correctly... (my GS award was well before my 2100-0300 SC and did not conflict with it and the trip started 5 hours after the SC would have ended next day) They are claiming the SC was
not removed at their discretion therefore I would not have rest prior to the next day GS. The thing I wonder about is their discretion to not remove the SC. This exact scenario has always resulted in the SC being removed and my GS awarded. It says next day can't prevent the GS, they are saying they have discretion to not remove the same day starting SCs even if there's adequate rest prior and no other issues. This is the first time I've had a GS removed for 23.Q.6.c. exception so I want to understand it. Thanks for the ref.
