The pilot group won’t be the slightest bit deterred by this. It will have the opposite effect, just as the attempted auto-accept intimidation did.
I would expect ALPA to release a comm very soon, reminding pilots of the Harris arbitration award (ATL 03-09), as well as the fact that Handel’s threats of discipline are completely without merit.
Handel has lost the confidence of the pilot group — in record time for someone in that position. Anything he says from this point forward bears no merit.
