I think it’s anyone’s guess as far as another base opening. Right now I kind of doubt anything is seriously in the works. If the hiring predictions come true, I think this will begin with 150 or so additional displacements and that it will be mostly nil by years end. Sustained hiring and upgrading fixes all ills when it comes to situations like this. I am not minimizing the pain at all. I really feel for anyone cross country commuting when they live in a base, I just think that if you throw enough bodies at the issue, it will go away. There will still be a few that got the boot in a major downsizing like Denver that can’t get back because of our stupid DRR system, but the crew planning numbers don’t account for any hiring at all.
