using the fact someone was issued a restricted ATP as a barometer, rather than their actual qualifications, is dumb. And even then, the R-ATP checkride is no different than a non restricted ATP.
if they now meet the requirements of a full ATP, then what does it matter if they didn’t want to pay a DPE $200 to file the paperwork to remove the restriction.
I agree. Although I imagine (but don't actually know) that Delta would require the full ATP at some point, otherwise they could never become a Captain. I don't find references to R-ATP in the FOM.
