To the OP. You can do it. 👍

in ATL (for example). You park on the Landside Lot and catch the bus. When you get dropped off at the terminal with your clubs, go to Special Assist. Tell them you are “working Flt 1234 to PBI, and you need to check this bag.” Most agents won’t know how. Politely Remind them they have to use the “Snap” system. They will probably have to get a red coat. Of course, extra time for all this.
when I get to the plane, I let the capt know I checked my clubs, and I Will NOT delay the van/others waiting for the van. If my clubs take any extra time, I just uber to hotel.
like others have said; if you get senior, you can leave a set at your favorite layover.
when I was at B6, there was a senior FO who left clubs at BUF in the summer, and FLL in winter. 🤣🤣
