Do not let them get away with this ! She was thoroughly annoyed with how this has been a problem ( at least domestic) and how it has continued since Covid. They now have a program where mng/trng FA’s are riding in the back during flights anonymously to spot this faulty service.
This seems like a purser or flight leader responsibly. As a commuter by choice (a very good choice BTW) I spend a few hours as self loading cargo every month. Domestic service seems to have gotten better over the last year, but still below pre COVID levels. The international crews start as soon as it's safe to get up because delaying service delays their breaks. They also seem to check regularly on the cockpit crew, especially as the FA crews swap out.
