I tend to agree with your post but I always remind myself that this industry is bipolar.

Someone could leave network planning or the head suite could reshuffle in the wake of a retirement and then a wild burr could appear in the saddle and all the sudden Denver is the new hotness again.

Who knows. I know this is a huge quality of life hit for those affected by it and that number is only growing.
