This discussion has never been about seniority. It’s about age and safety. No one is forcing people to retire once they reach a certain seniority level.
I’m still waiting for you to give me an example of a 67 year old that’s at the top of their game.
No one brings their A game to every leg. Satisfactory to established safety measures, proficiency and systemic controls is the common to each and every crewmember bar to clear. Opponents of present code have at their disposal various means to lobby, litigate for review & possible revision. As mentioned previously, 65 has functioned adequately imo. But I carry no axe to grind for Lepf activists personally. Why a dude/dudette who’s too long in the tooth for a Sun Country 73 is still spry enough for a BBJ, requires at least some regulatory effort to justify. Seems to me like no one has seriously bothered to quantify that. Yes, there most certainly are 65 yo’s better qualified than some Pt 121 30 yo’s for the sake of argument.
