In my opinion, they should be running a QS for any trip that is 6 hours out or less. Give commuters a chance and gets the trips covered. Unless they don't have the schedulers to do it...
It's in the company's interest to create division in the membership. By running QS so close to departure they guarantee that a senior commuter won't get the trip.
