Colgan will lose between 30 and 40 captains this year to majors/nationals/fractionals. They'll also lose about 50 FO's to jet regionals. That's 80 to 90 pilots or a new hire class of 6 - 8 each month to keep up. If we expand again, then more will be needed. The problem with attrition is it's not steady. One month you get two or three, the next month 15 people leave. Colgan has a tendency to do "just-in-time" hiring.

So if you want to work for us don't be surprised to be interviewed on a Thursday and be offered a class that starts Monday (that's what happened to me).
