Being a full timer is a pain, but being furloughed, having your pay cut, pension taken is not much fun either. Plus they all stayed as tradionals to make up the pay, now thats fun (two jobs). Flying/deploying at age 49 not good planning or just bad luck. As far as UPS, we will probably not hire for a while and if they do and if this DHL deal goes through, then they will/may do pref hiring of those guys. Keep your art or agr job and don't fall into the grass is always greener thing.

Unfortunately, I heard that the IPA was informed by UPS that IF the DHL deal goes through, there will be no preferential interviews for ABX and Astar pilots due to past issues with UPS getting sued by former contractor pilots during the airline's startup.
