You want to leave a job that makes 160 and is working for the gov. My Wing CC makes that at GS15 step 10 plus his drills, so I don't know what job your in, but keep it. Been in the Reserves for 17 years and every art/agr that has left has found thier lives less stable. Being a full timer is a pain, but being furloughed, having your pay cut, pension taken is not much fun either. Plus they all stayed as tradionals to make up the pay, now thats fun (two jobs). Flying/deploying at age 49 not good planning or just bad luck. As far as UPS, we will probably not hire for a while and if they do and if this DHL deal goes through, then they will/may do pref hiring of those guys. Keep your art or agr job and don't fall into the grass is always greener thing.
