Apply sooner or down the road?

Unfortunately, that does not surprise me. I heard that UPS made a lot of promises to a lot of contractor pilots in '88 that they didn't follow thru on... I guess their answer is to not make promises....

Thanks for the replies so far.
There seems to be a little confusion here. The ART job I'm in IS a flying job, it's just that I'm in the cockpit five hours per week and behind the desk for 40. So, if I stay where I'm at, I'll be current at whatever point I may get hired in a couple/few years. If I go to the AGR slot, I'll fly a few times per week and still have a desk waiting after I land so currency is not an issue either way.
It's either continue to make good money now while I wait to get hired or make ok money with the prospect of a nice retirement check in six years but no ability to get hired in the meantime.
