For the longest time I have defended the union and tried to steer everyone's frustrations towards the company and not the union.
Recent events have basically confirmed that I was wrong.
The union is an absolute disaster and it's hurting our negotiating progress. We now have a union that's infighting is so bad it basically can't function. Our mediator is giving the union time to clean up is act. That's costing us precious time in a fight against a company that's doing everything to slow roll negotiating.
Contract 2028. Delta may actually get one before us which was basically unthinkable before now.
People didnt believe me when I said thats why we were iced by the mediator.
OUR union is currently so dysfunctional and some LEC reps are SO PETTY, that they would rather put themselves before everyone else they represent. Who by the way, elected them because they put out good faith runs for the seats. It is clear those were not in good faith.
I can tell you all right now, there are so many good people who volunteer in this union and put so much time and effort in to help US, but they are getting burnt out and sick of the infighting.
