Gates are important though, and for the right price, buying an airline to get access to gates/slots could be a thing. But would it be worth the hassle over just offering to buy pieces without a full merger?
No, absolutely not. The financially smart decision is to avoid anything that ALPA could categorize as an acquisition which would result in a SLI. A new hire is much cheaper than a 12 year CA. And F9 cannot afford the debt either.
