Yea, I was blown away too by the two ultra-commuters that I talked to. For the Germany CA, he based himself out of LAX because it was technically faster and easier than BWI. Lufthansa’s flight to LAX was rarely full and he got business class or First Class the majority of the time…where as the Dulles flight was often full and he still had to figure out grand transportation to BWI….so LAX was his choice and he acted like he loved it.

The FO living in the Philippines told me that everything went right it was 17 hours from his driveway to work, but he didn’t mind it: more often than not, he stacks two 6-days with the required day off in between and then has close to two weeks off back home.

Good on them for living their best life. I couldn’t do it.
