I'm a millennial, I was raised to say "thank you" and "you're welcome". I've had captains even thank me for saying it after they pick up the tab or whatever, blows my mind that people don't say that after receiving a free cocktail or even a full meal...

I will always be thankful if someone wants to pay, but I never expect it and will gladly repay it when it's my turn.
