I'm talking about flat out, grabbing bags and leaving. Not saying "I don't have the cash" as you described above. that scenario, totally cool and acceptable in my book.
I'm a millennial and I get 1 dollar bills from the bank to tip the van drivers with... literally the only reason I ever get cash.
I've also never seen someone NOT tip the van driver here at Delta (aside from FAs).
