Maybe. Company already finding ways to reduce 23.M.7 cost. For example, only partially paying 23.M.7 due to max pickup limit. Purposely not paying it out at all unless someone finds out about it. Running multiple steps of coverage at once to see if someone takes trips before QS, then giving trip to reserve instead.
They could keep hiring to the point that there’s no open time at all. Many of us worked here when we were overstaffed by over a thousand pilots with no premium pay at all except in extraordinary circumstances. That’s not very likely to happen again due to retirements though. When it happened before, the retirement age was raised stopping all retirements for 5 years.
If we ever uncover internal communication proving this is happening, we have a multi-million dollar suit against Delta. Wage theft goes beyond PWA violation and gets into criminal territory.
