If there’s not an agreement in place by May 15 this whole quick short term contract is done imo. Those that magically think some close in slip is going to pay 300 or 400% is outer space dreaming, Delta will ride out another 3-4 months of paying 20 million or whatever the number is of M7 payments and be mostly ok by this winter. Im not saying the NC or us as a pilot group take whatever the company throws our way but this “leverage” is not as big as we think it is. I’d love to be wrong on this but I’m not so sure I will be.
2. If they hire themselves out of it, great! More pilots! (But that won't solve much honestly)
3. This issue will still be a thorn in their side causing tens of millions to be flushed down the toilet and operational chaos, every month
4. They'll have more time to realize they're screwed for summer 2027
I'm not seeing the conundrum we're in, honestly. We have short term leverage, we have long term leverage.

Ask yourself: When was the last time the company made the difficult decision to do something expensive because it was in the best long-term interests of the company?
I see no way this incompetent management team will set aside their egos to buy themselves out of this self-made operational disaster.
Of course I hope I’m wrong, because I’d like Delta to retain the revenue premium that Richard Anderson created years ago.

That entire circle is comprised of racketeers who are intent on pilfering every penny they can over their remaining 2-3 years at Delta. Surrounding their circle is an echo chamber of cheerleaders chanting Ripinpeace’s “We will always be the world’s most profitable airline, no matter what!” chant.

Unfortunately, there’s no incentive for anyone in the C-suite or BOD to do anything with long-term interests in mind — particularly at the expense of the short-term.
