Agreed, I am an instant NO on anything that touches soft pay and/or RR rules. I also don't think they should have better access to RES; hiring more pilots will make more RES available. RES is a fantastic option for senior individuals who value a better quality of life over money.
Yeah, they have all the tools they need to solve the problem they created. Hire more pilots is the obvious long term solution, but if they used PBS premium, SS, VAS, Standby Rotations, and extra on-call days proactively they'd be ahead of the problem instead of always trying to put out the fire. Then, don't waste time and reserves breaking up trips and DH'ing everyone around. Send the whole thing out as soon as it's uncovered.
