Eeek. I see no reason they can’t have one out the evening of any decision. Pre-author 2 comms, and publish the one that applies.

If they delay, I sure hope any rep emails between decision time and comm time don’t deflect. Inquiring minds want to know, especially if we are going with the short path (which I think most everyone doubts). It doesn’t require details immediately, just a quick note will do (or leak).

I laugh at the idea of the Gummster trying to fix our problems with no deal. Mainly because that would require significant pilot buy-in and I don’t think he realizes the number of pilots willing to extend into min rest reroutes or keep their phone on for the daily 3am panic coverage blasts is dwindling by the day. Even the most seasoned hustlers I chat with are getting tired of it and don’t have the energy to keep volunteering on their days off to put out fires.

I also laugh because in the El Niño cycle, we’re currently in the lowest of the low weather event cycle and as soon as we hit legitimately bad weather things are going to crash even harder than the blue-sky irops we’ve recently seen.

Also consider the fact that hiring isn’t a magic bullet because many of our problems aren’t solved even with infinite reserves. Not to mention the cost (min guarantee) of 2400 more pilots on payroll is actually greater than the $20 million/mo price tag of 23m7. No way around it.

I’m sure the majority of us don’t want to see summer turn into another nuclear catastrophe but sadly that’s what it might take for management to wise up to gummster’s lies and hand waving. I still laugh at his quote about 2 minute average hold times. Why not publish and track the longest hold times experienced each month? Mean/median/mode? Then maybe someone higher up can actually give you the resources you need, maybe. If he’s pulling enough mental gymnastics for that small ego-driven cover, imagine the magnitude of other lies he’s feeding to management.

LOL, this is the same management that takes an ugly statistic that shows nearly half of all 'pay inquiries' result in a pilot being due pay, and water that down with 35,000 regular pay transactions to get the statistic down to 2%, and then tout that as if it's a win! Talk about gaslighting! How stupid do they think we are?

DJ's email was a little more humble than RGs usual comms though. Admitting there's a problem at least. Especially the part about having the customer service/reservations team help crew scheduling learn how to deal with high call volumes to reduce long pilot wait times. RG couldn't even admit that there was a problem.
