Do you think the 165/169 burn it all down approach shortened or lengthened the time to achieving Self Help?

After you answer those questions, think about reality. The last Self Help was Comair in 2001. What do you think the odds are today in the current business and political environment of the NMB releasing a union from mediation AND the president not stepping in to stop a strike to protect "business interests"?

You can hope all you want that Self Help is going to give us the magical sword to hold over the necks of the company and force them to give us 'market rate' pay.

AIN'T HAPPENIN'.
First, I was not in favor of the 165/169 actions. It might have made more sense had they waited until we saw what the new admin was willing to do. In fact, I've mentioned that the timing of all this seems very suspect (as in perhaps mgt is behind it all and somebody got paid).

Second, Comair was NOT the last self-help. Oddly enough it was NK in 2010.

Third, prior to self-help, there's always the pilot vote. Of course, you have to have all sections TA'd first, which wasn't happening, but TBH, it's still kinda early in the negotiating process. UA just voted down their current contract (the Tumi TA).

I didn't have a problem w/ our most recently recalled NC.
