METO, give me a break. WWII - for the Brits - started on 3 Jan 1939, and Germany wasn’t defeated until May
8 1945. But FOOD rationing continued all the way into July 1954, a total of nine years after the war. Gas rationing went on until 1950. And they - that is the Brits - declared war , not because the Nazis were threatening to get a nuke, but because they invaded Poland.

We’ve experienced - what? Gas PRICES went up $1.55 a gallon?

But no real shortages, no rationing, not even the long lines and odd-even fill up days that US implemented during the Arab oil embargo’s of the 70s when gas prices QUADRUPLED.

Have we really become such a nation of wimps? That a 52% increase in gas prices for a few months is going to bring us to our knees? That’s 52% of the average 3-4% of their income American families spend on gasoline?

To stop apocalyptic religious lunatics from getting a nuke?
