Your point about blocking someone at D is well taken, however i don't think I blocked anyone. I competed with the others and was fortunate to be in a group of 6 out of the 18 that were interviewed. It was a grueling process, much like FedEx, but I don't think I got any slack from them.
Actually, I do encourage many of my friends @ FedEx to retire with grace and dignity. If they want, or need to continue their chosen profession, there are MANY options available.......big money and terrific ex-pat packages available for most a/c types as well as fractionals here in the U.S.
TJ in Bus flt stds has my cell, and I have asked him to pass it on to anyone who is considering retirement, and I will provide details on multiple job opportunities.
Note to all: our FedEx A plan pays me more than a senior 777 Captain at my current employer.........take the money and run....you won't regret it. Life is full of other opportunities and goals....and it still includes family. friends, church, hunting, skiing, philanthropy, and still working if you choose.
deuce, thanks for the kind words on Ioe....like Albie, I was trying......no desire for a P...... contest either....got to stay away from the keyboard at 2:00 am.
Purple side up.

NOTE TO ALL PEOPLE APPROACHING 60 Y/O:
This is how you do it with some class and grace. If you still want to fly, get in the back of the line. Finally, some common sense and class. Good on ya FedElta, enjoy Big D.
