Yes the new delta contract reduces the number of 70 seat RJ's to 255 from the original 290. together delta and NWA currently operate less than 200 of these things, so they can buy more. The career slide still continues......
How many E170s does DAL have flying with Republic and how many 70 seaters does skywest fly for DAL? Just trying to add it up. Also even if there are other 70 seaters allowed up to that 255 the number of 50 seaters that are going to be yanked will far outnumber any new 70 seaters. The shift right now is back to larger mainline aircraft, hence why we are keeping 61 DC9s now instead of 58 like what was announced earlier this year. It appears DAL wants some of the Diesel 9s down in ATL post merger. We'll see. I think the wholly owned regionals are going to fair much better in all this then the others which imho is good because we are keeping the money in house.
