Freedom has 14 900's and the Pinnacle contract was canceled; Then you add the 72 175/900's at XJ and CZ. The new number is the Delta cap at 200 and the NWA lower cap at 55. Wait until the equity pay out happens when the carriers combine, you will see a mass exodus of NWA pilots into retirement when that happens. I donlt think you guys will furlough anyone.
I assume you are a new pilot at NWA, trust me NWALPA tried to pull the Mesaba guys onto the list on several occasions. Management has successfully squashed it everytime. Now with the new SLI rules in mergers it makes it even more painful for mainline to recapture scope. You basically would have to give up massive amounts of pay and seniority to get it back.
I like you am in my 20's and would have loved the opportunity to just get rid of the regionals and make it all on one list hence why i am an advocate of it now that i am at a major. Having the flying divided only divides us as pilots further. It would be nice to all be one group allowing new pilots to get in and start building longevity at a major that much earlier in their careers. I dont know if we can recapture scope but they sure are going to cap it off. Pilots at the majors have all seen the effects of the first round of scope giveaways and most of the pilots are pretty bent about it. In this age of high fuel and parking aircraft most arent willing to give up anymore flying. Pay has already been stripped and so has retirements so mgmt cant hold anything over our heads to give up anymore scope. IMHO we will see the joint contract very soon and lets hope its a good one.
