No, I was here and yes, I was furloughed. And I am fully aware of how ridiculous the whole process was. A three month furlough followed by hiring 2 months after we returned made it perfectly obvious that the furlough process was simply a scare tactic during contract negotiations.
With that said, I think they (just a shot in the dark, who knows honestly what really was intended) knew perfectly well what they were doing and didn't just arbitrarily decided to lay 150 pilots off. It costs money to furlough an excess of pilots.
Also, you are correct when you talk about the junior manning and timing out during the furlough. But, keep this in mind, when I came back it took 3 months back on the line for me to credit above 20 hours. So that tells me maybe we did have to many.
