I use the DSL, keep a copy with you when you're on the flight, writing over planned times with blocked and logging names and ship numbers, landings, approaches, actual whatever.

Then when you checkout, re-print out the DSL again with the updated times. I have a lot more time on my hands than line holders though, so to each their own i guess.
