Any NWA furloughee has rights to compass or mesaba. in regards to compass flowbacks can occupy up to 90% of the seniority list. If you go back to compass as a captain its on 2nd year ca pay rates and if you go all the way back to FO you go to 4 year FO compass pay. When NWA recalls you can go back, if NWA asks you to stay at compass due to low staffing at Compass at the time NWA has to pay us the greater of the 2 rates(nwa rate you would be on or current Compass rate whichever is higher) Mesaba is much more limited since its a new deal, i believe less than 15 spots are available at Mesaba. The Compass deal was written to protect NWA pilots in the event of furloughs. So its more beneficial to NWA pilots in the bad times since scope was relaxed. Hopefully the costs associated with furloughing NWA pilots, only to retrain them/us at compass and furlough compass guys, out weighs the cost of just paying newbs at NWA probationary wages. I dont think furloughs will happen mainly because of the "plans" of the new Delta. Hoping for the best.
