In a word, no. Comair has finally discovered they will not be needing 300 new pilots after all. New hire classes are cancelled. Upgrade classes are cancelled. we're not talking a matter of weeks, we're talking many months, if at all.
To those in the pool/newhires/interviewees, I'm sorry to see you abused like the regular Comair guys. They do this every year or so- award upgrades to 40 or 60 first officers then pull them, open bases and close them a year later, hire a hundred pilots then send 60 home before class starts. Comair has had 4 CEOs in 4 years and doesn't have a clue who they are anymore. Comair seems like a ship without a captain.
If you are in "the pool" you should be looking for another gig, something you'd enjoy doing for a year or two. And don't turn down any other airlines (well, maybe Mesa) in hopes that Comair will call you back soon.
A lot of us saw this coming three months ago, but hoped that Comair was turning the corner. Guess not. I sure wish the news was better, but I'm just telling it like it is.
Good luck should you accept this mission. This airline will self destruct in 10 seconds...
