When companies negotiate pay rates on a new contract, they take an average from their industry. If Go Jet low balls their pilots, and they accept it, they have just lowered the average regional pay rate, and made it harder for other pilot groups to negotiate higher pay rates, because their company knows there are guys out there willing to do it for less.
