Would you guys be happier if we all just instructed until our 40's and then joined "THE ELITE OF THE MAINLINE AIRLINE PILOTS!"??? Just thought I would ask so I can start applying.
And if anyone tries to tell me that if they were in my spot 20+ years ago, that they would not work for a regional airline based on their "morals of the industry". You would be doing the same thing me and guys like me are doing now, and you know it.
Rant over.
So mainline pilots sell out on scope and refuse to fly these small airplanes (including those tiny F100s, nothing to do with pay, only size), so when those are the only jobs that are open any more, it's regional guys' fault? How else are they supposed to get the the majors, then? Do you (not Herbie), oh mighty AMR (the big one) pilot, have any suggestions? Here I was thinking basically the only entry level jobs in this industry were regional jobs, and there are entire fleets of A380s waiting for young pilots to start on earning $200k a year. Man, damn kids not doing their research.
