Ok, just my 2 cents.

They are letting the newhire classes of June 23rd and prior stay in training for two reasons.

1.) If Daddy Delta wins the trial for Mesa or Pinnacle(doubtful on the Mesa front, though I wish it were already done.)

2.) They have already purchased the SIM time for those in this class. Why not let them finish the SIM training that way there are no worries in the event that a lot of senior people were to take voluntary furloughs/Cola's. The downside is that the footprint from day 1 of indoc until IEO is 89 days. There is less than 89 days for someone who started on the 23rd. It doesn't stop there though. You must get 100 hrs in the first 120 days following your checkride in type. If you don't, you will be back through the entire training. Not sure when each of you was hired so you need to do the math on your own.

As for those who are optomistic about senior people taking voluntary furloughs/colas, I have another thought. During the bankruptcy they were telling people that they wouldn't be furloughed for long. Told most that they would be back on property within 3 months. This time though, nobody knows how long the furlough will be. It could be for 2 years. We could get spun off by then. I don't see senior people jumping into that pool this time. What happens if a senior guy gets furlough and is not called back within a year. He or she might look for work elsewhere, but they won't be current anymore. I do believe senior guys will eat up the colas because they are time specific. We'll see how many of those the company puts out and how long they are.

As for you junior guys.... Let's say you are within the bottom 150. Say you plan on senior guys taking leave and you don't voluntarily take a furlough. You may get furloughed anyway and not have any benefits. Not sure about you, but bennies are huge during a time of uncertanty.

Good luck with your decisions.
