While I don't consider this man a "hero," it's worth while to think about the future crimes that never happened thanks to him. At least one of them had a previous criminal record. Most of us spend a lot of time away from home. What if the next house they hit was yours, with your wife and/or kids home alone? I can't speak for anyone else, but worrying about my wife's safety makes being away that much more difficult. We have guns in our home, and she can burn the hair off gnat's ass, so that helps. Bottom line is, if they were productive members of society instead of criminals, they'd be alive.
