Trying to get outta EWR the other day the gate agent told me I had to have an actual paper ticket to get a seat (despite the fact that he was holding my boarding pass). Ok, no problem...I'll JS instead of Non-rev.

Nope.

Told me that I WASN'T ALLOWED to jumpseat on a flight MY company was working without a ticket. Unbelievable.

I don't mind flying the American stuff...but I'll be damned if I ever try to ride on them again. Every time it's been a PITA. SWA treats freeloaders better than anyone so I'm sticking with them.
