How do you find info for Jumpseating on UPS?

I wish there was a source - one single source - that had all non-rev numbers on it and jumpseat information. That would be very beneficial. If it doesn't exist I'll make it, I just need to get the info!

I have finally tracked down an email that explains it in detail.

We absolutely are entitled to the jumpseat even if there are available seats in the cabin. If you ask a gate agent to show you in the TRIP BOOK where the policy stating otherwise is - they won't be able to because it isn't there!

I have an email detailing this as well as a copy of the email sent to gate agents explaining to them that the denial of a jumpseat is incorrect procedure.

I will post that email shortly and if anyone wants I can email you the scanned file of the email sent to gate agents.

Subject: Re: Hi, I was with you the other day in the jumpseat

Hi Max,

Sorry it took me so long to see this...

I have attached a copy of the SYSHOT message that I asked HR in
Dallas to send to all AA agents worldwide. It was sent on 06OCT2004.
The part about paying for departure taxes is now moot,,,,since those
taxes are also now payroll deducted. Also, the VP of Flight Attendants
pushed to make the service charge for jumpseat occupants zero...so we
now enjoy that as well.

Remember, the important thing is that the source for the gate agents'
application of the "no jumpseats for you with open cabin seats"
policy, was an unauthorized trip book statement in the jumpseat
section. That was removed from the Trip Book in Oct 2004. So even
without a copy of the SYSHOT message, a gate agnt will never be able
to show you the policy for refusing you the jumseat in the TRIPBOOK,
which is where all the current AA policies on travel is
listed..........in which case she is violating your travel benefit, an
offence punishable by dismissal....and you are instructed to report
the name of any agent applying the old (and unauthorized) policy to
the Flight and APA higher-ups for prosecution......and let them know
that is what you are required to do.
Because the scanned photo of the email sent to the agents only comes up as a
PDF file, I'll just put the text here:

N**162-172 STAR SYSHOT 06OCT04
AS A REMINDER. COCKPIT CREWMEMBERS AND CABIN CREWMEMBERS MAY REQUEST THE JUMPSEAT EVEN IF CABIN SEATS
ARE AVAILABLE. CREWMEMBERS TRAVELING ON D1/D2 PASS CLASSIFICATION MAY BE ASSIGNED THE JUMPSEAT EVEN IF
CABIN SEATS ARE AVAILABLE. THE SERVICE CHARGES WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE PAYROLL DEDUCTED.
HOWEVER, ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS, ANY APPLICABLE DEPARTURE TAXES/FEES FOR PERSONAL TRAVEL MUST BE COLLECTED
AT TIME OF CHECK-IN.

End text.

So do we still get charged? Hard to say. Looks like yes from the email...but I'll look at my pay for next period and let you know
as I jumpseated with 1 seat left in the cabin last week.

Enjoy the sitting Robsquatch!

I just went through and looked at my travel history. When I started training I flew in the Jumpseat a number of times with lots of seats open in the cabin...at no time have I been charged for any ticket issued under FDJ privileges. So apparently, its free, all free!
