As a UAX guy also, I used to take American every chance I could as well. AA and Eagle have always been great to me. Eagle guys just get screwed when you try JS on AA. I am glad we get free travel on UA (coach) so it dosen't matter if I get a seat in back.

With Fedex you can reserve a seat. I think the same for UPS: Jumpseat Finder
There are two options per day, a morning departure gets you there in the evening, and an evening gets you there in the morning (via MEM).
We don't charge!

Thank you Seattlecfi...I'll have to look that up, print that up and carry it with me!
As for moving to Miami or elsewhere -- guys, I'm on the bubble if a furlough does happen...and very likely to get displaced to DFW in the near future anyhow...no way I'm spending my precious money to move somewhere!!! I'm going to invest it in a pinball machine or something useful!!
So its either use the Tripbook policy to get my 1W seat or fly other airlines. I don't know why we have such an odd policy in place for non-revving.
99.9% of mainline pilots are cool about jumpseaters from any airline too - last week trying to get out of Miami with 3 pilots (one was another airline) - the Captain pointed at all of us and said, "I'm not leaving here with any empty jumpseats - you're all getting on this plane". Those are the good guys to have. Its usually the gate agents playing the games, the crew are happy to get anybody with wings on board.
Now to check out the FedEx & UPS stuff. Never tried that before!

FedEx is domestic only for Offline...which oddly enough, according to the lovely lady that answered the phone...does not include Puerto Rico...only the 50 states. That sucks. I was looking forward to flying with blue jeans on!

take ups puerto rico is domestic to them. also some times you can get screwed by a usair west guy cause in their manual puerto rico is an international destination thus no cockpit jumpseating. its domestic for an east crew.

Eagle guys have to pay a service charge until they have five years seniority, and they do not get buddy passes (D3's) until their 2nd year.

OT - The Eagle per diem will be reduced after this ammendment round. It was written to increase five cents every year. The company now says that 1.70 is well above industry average, so they want it reduced to industry average.
