If you have 121 turbine experience you will almost certainly go to the dhc-8 in one of the new bases in Northeastern US. You may have an opportunity to upgrade to -8 captain in less than a year.

Training in the -8 is best described as brutal, the fail rate is much higher than any other US airline which operates that aircraft. I understand that a 30-50% fail rate is normal. If possible, take a leave of absence from your current job so that you can go back if you don't get through.

Jet training is easier, but like I said, you will probably get assigned the dash due to growth in that aircrfat and your background.
