Personal opinion (as a former MAPD instructor): Mesa is for "putting" in you dues. If you have the time, don't go to Mesa. They have the worst work rules in the biz. If you get hired with 250-500 hours, it's worth it. After that (IMHO) you are putting up with H-E-double hockey sticks for nothing. There are at least a half dozen other airlines that you are competitive for that would be ten (or more) times better for you.
