You get on the payroll after 2 weeks. Ex/ hired on 7/13, first check (depending on how you hit it) by the end of the month. That's how it worked for me, and has been working.
OK, well that's good to know. My friend went through training back in August of 06 and had to pay for his hotel for the first few weeks.
It's sad that companies expect a professional to work for free or for pathetic wages (SKW as well as every other airline including most all Legacies, Nationals & Majors) until their trained or partially trained. I don't know of many other industries that do this. It, as well as many other things, is downright criminal and disrespectfull.
