Well, 8 months of reserve later and I am stuck in a domicile far away from home, and actually moving backwards on the CRJ seniority list due to the EMB120 guys and gals moving over to the jet side. It seems the company sees the need to freeze transfers until further hiring resumes, but keep moral high for the EMB pilots? I feel like a bathmat for the other pilots who paid their dues in the Bro. I understand my place on the seniority list. It's just that I have no moral for the immediate future, and don't understand why SKW is stuffing more pilots into the jet right now. BTW, I did bid for a transition down into the EMB, and was frozen till later this year.

Buddy that's your problem/fault not theirs, the fact is that things change and if you think that recruiters are managerial decision makers then you need to open your eyes. An internal or external recruiters/headhunters job (my wife was one for 8+ years) at any company is to fill positions based upon projections given to them by Mgmnt. Projections that can and do change DAILY! Back when you were hired oil wasn't $145/barrel and we were working on many other deals. Things change and if you can't handle this cyclical industry then you need to get out and get out now.
As for my morale comment, moving RJ FO's down to the EMB will allow them to actually fly, it will solve out EMB FO shortage without adding more pilots to a slightly bloated pilot list which BTW would increase the chances of us furloughing. Those who choose to move over will no longer have to sit reserve seeing that new hire EMB FO's from the April 08 (the last RJ new hire class was what.....January?) class already have solid lines which will lead to them being home more with better QOL………thus helping to maintain or improve morale. Also keep in mind that MANY RJ FO’s would and will jump at the chance to move over to the EMB in order to hold a line with more days off, be closer to home and have the opportunity to get holidays off. Or would you rather be furloughed or about to be furloughed like those at Aloha, Big Sky, ATA, MaxJet, EOS, CAT, Horizon, PSA, Air Wisconsin, Xtra, SkyBus, SkyWay, Midwest, TSA, AA, AE, US, UAL, AirTran, CAL, XJT, RAH, MAG, F9, etc.... Thus if you were anywhere esle you'd be closer to being out on the street if now already on the street.
You need to get off you selfish high horse and check your attitude at the door. You have a job with a very......very good airline that will do everything they can in order to not furlough. Just remember that, for your seniority, you are in the best possible position/situation you could be in right now.
Good Day, best wishes and say hello to my good friend CG who is sitting reserve with you, who has a hire date of Nov 07 and has no clue when he'll be able to hold a line in ORD. But hey, that's life with the airlines so get used to it.

There's an old saying that rings true...................."you only have three real choices in life.........Adapt....Move.....or Die." It's your life and therefore only your choice.
