I am real! I also almost lost my job. I was barely missed with furloughs before, so don't preach to me about the downfalls about being on the fence. Talk about pools, when I was hired, we had to wait 1 full year for a class date. Also, do your research. The things that the union is fighting right now are not small problems and they not only affect them, but even the junior guys. In my opinion the junior guys should feel fortunate that they have someone representing them for FREE.
I just hope that you guys that are on the fence right now have made plans. You have had plenty of warning to come up with plan B. Hopefully you don't need it, but if you do then you shouldn't be on these boards crying if it happens. Those that were furloughed before didn't have any time to secure other jobs. I think they got a half a day notice that fuloughs were coming and then received a letter. And yes, during that time I helped my unfortunate friends.
A few of you have said that you feel betrayed by the MEC, have you walked into the MEC's office and asked why they are betraying you? Have you walked in there and asked why you aren't being represented? Have you asked them why they are fighting petty issues? Voicing your opinion on this message board doesn't count.
