With all due respect I disagree completely. First off, some of these junior guys on the fence are beginning year two, So they are paying. For the Association to look out for them.
Secondly, the first year guys who are being represented, they aren't being represented for free. Assuming we go back to hiring, they will pay the association back LOTS of money. I see this as a way for the union to not loose support later on. By helping out the junior guys for "free" they are just ensuring that they will have a favorable image later on.
Third and lastly, A unions primary job is to help preserve jobs. I agree with them that this Emastro thing sucks and wasn't implemented correctly or in good faith. That said, the union needs to re prioritize. Jobs need to be their most important issue, followed by everything else
Like I said before, take points 1 2 and 3 and walk them into the MEC's office. I'm sure they will be more than happy to discuss them. Maybe that's the problem. Why don't you guys start going to the MEC and going to the local meetings and voicing your issues?
