I think we should do what many other chief pilot's offices do. A chief can only serve for 2 years and then it's someone elses turn. That way we don't get crusty old guys that build history in the position. How can someone who represents the pilot group sit on the company side of the table in contract negotiations? I agree, but good luck suggesting that. During the bankruptcy payout, there were actually some pilots suggesting I sign a petition that the chiefs be included in the payout... meanwhile the chiefs were on the other side of the negotiating table.
