Not true JMC. We did NOT have to approve a 5 YEAR concessionary contract. Not sure if you read the paper but we are profitable RIGHT NOW and still have 3 MORE YEARS before we can renegotiate.

The latest contract that you voted yes for has set us back umpteen years and it will take several more contracts to recover from it.

What you and Duffrick don't get is that we don't vote in contracts to prevent furloughs. The company will furlough regardless of how you and I will vote. Both NWA's and our last contracts were overkill and will cause more harm than good to the average line Pilot while our managements stuff their pockets with the dollars you left on the table.

Shame on you!!

Actually, from what I read from the DNU messages, management also took a pay concession. Sure, not as much. But that's what attracts good talent to any business..you get what you pay for.

Truth is, in order to compete in a deregulated environment, up against the likes of SWA, JetBlue and Airtran (who do not have the high pension plans to fund or higher salaries of the long time employees or expensive hubs) CAL has to be able to compete with a better financial balance sheet in the future, i.e. Fund the Future. Hopefully, we can All Work Together to make it a successful airline..
