Count duty time, like any other profession would, and assume a one for three rig: Unless you fly more than 1/3 of your duty time that would be 6 bucks and change.
I would also count a reserve on guarantee as duty time...yeah, he may get to sit on his @ss at home, BUT he is realistically precluded from getting another job during his duty hours, so you have to count that as work hours (maybe not gruelling work hours
