You can put in preferences for your short call days and request AM or PM. They do not have to honor the requests, but most of the time they do. You can also move off days and drop payback days on your schedule. I've had pretty good luck getting the time I need off.

My observation is that High Yellow slips are not always honored before they use a regular reserve and the Reserve Utilization Order gets muddy when it comes to high and low yellow slips.
