Old DC-9's with a few years left of flying and 74-200's that are getting shut down and parked. I hear your arguement for the 787's but so far that is a "concept" airplane until one is delivered and on the ramp. That being said, welcome to Mother D, the waters fine over here and we need to get along sometime.
I agree with your sentiment on getting along and now that we are on the same side I think we should all agree:
1. That if they park DC-9's we should insist on a replacements being flown mainline.
2. If they park the -200's, they had better replace them with mainline flying.
3. Furloughs? Out of the question.
4. When the time comes for "us" to really get ours -as in UPS and Fed Ex pay + 5% -10% - then there had better not be any dilly-dallying around by management.
5. With 12,000 + pilots all working together, the above 4 points are well within reason.
I think we can all agree on the above 5 points.
I look forward to working with you guys/gals.
